SwimRun

Swimrun is the fastest growing endurance sport in the world. You normally participate in teams of two (although many events now allow solo athletes), alternating between trail running and open water swimming along a marked course. But you don't get changed for each section - there's no time to lose – you run in your wetsuit and you swim in your shoes! And you carry a swim float called a pull buoy for the entire race.

It is a unique and exciting sporting experience, as you always race with a partner, and the race courses are usually through beautiful but wild natural scenery. The ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship (ÖTILLÖ meaning island to island in Swedish) is the original event, renowned as one of the toughest one-day races in the world (from What Is SwimRun - 2024- Discover this exhilarating new sport! But fear not – our version repeats the successful fun event of the Belgian Semester. Co-organised with the JRC Triatlon Club, this is not a race but just a way of living the beautiful Lago di Monate without frontiers.

Lo Swimrun è lo sport di resistenza in più rapida crescita al mondo. Normalmente si partecipa in squadre di due (anche se molti eventi ora consentono atleti individuali), alternando trail running e nuoto in acque libere lungo un percorso segnalato. Ma non ti cambi per ogni sezione, non c'è tempo da perdere: corri con la muta e nuoti con le scarpe! E porti un galleggiante da nuoto chiamato boa per l'intera gara.

È un'esperienza sportiva unica ed emozionante, poiché si gareggia sempre con un partner e i percorsi di gara si svolgono solitamente attraverso scenari naturali meravigliosi ma selvaggi. Il Campionato mondiale di nuoto ÖTILLÖ (ÖTILLÖ significa da isola a isola in svedese) è l'evento originale, noto come una delle gare di un giorno più dure al mondo (da What Is SwimRun - 2024- Discover this exhilarating new sport! Ma non temere: la nostra versione ripete il divertente evento di successo del semestre belga. Organizzata in collaborazione con il JRC Triatlon Club, questa non è una gara ma solo un modo di vivere lo splendido Lago di Monate senza frontiere.
